hi! thanks much to ramesh kumar who told me that adding 'nowin' to my kernel line in my /tftpboot/menu.lst.<pxemacaddy> file will suppress the X desktop and not ask me if i want to register. so my kernel looks like: kernel$ /I86PC.jumpstart-1/multiboot kernel/$ISADIR/unix -B install_config=192.168.111.112:/jumpstart/Conf10x86,sysid_config=192.168.111. 112:/jumpstart/Conf10x86,install_media=192.168.111.112:/jumpstart/OS/s10x86,i nstall_boot=192.168.111.112:/boot -v -m install nowin thanks also to tom lieuallen who suggested auto_reg=none (instead of disabled) but it didn't get rid of the pesky dialog box for me. -mark ------------------------------ hi, i saw on the sun docs that the new oracle auto registration can be disabled for hands free jumpstarting. however it doesn't seem to have any effect. my sysidcfg seems to answer everything else... i'm installing on an x86 hp server and everything seems to go well until it opens the desktop and pops up the checkbox to indicate if i want to go ahead and autoregister i click on the next button twice (or i suppose i could unclick the box and click next) and i'm back on my way through the custome jumpstart/install. has anyone found a way to get around the checkbox in the popup dialog box? auto_reg=disable (i even tried setting values for the fields hoping that it would just try to register and time out) cheers! mark Please consider the environment before printing this email.
