Hello, Thanks to all that replied. Most replies suggested to set the parameters output-device to ttya and input-device to ttya. I tried these but they did not fix the issue. The solution was provided by Chris H. Thanks Chris.. Here it is.. setenv ttya-ignore-cd true. This allowed me to see the output.. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to respond.. ##Original Message##### Hi Sun Managers, I manage some older SUN hardware remotely. These older SUN machines have no Service processors. The way I generally connect is to connect a PC to the SUN box via Null modem cable. From there I remote into the PC and access the SUN host over serial connection. This works for all of the hosts except one, which it only works partially for. By partially i mean the following. I can control the box from the OK prompt, I can enter OpenBoot commands. I can power off and boot the box fine. The problem is that once the OS begins to boot I lose all visual and cannot enter input anymore. The issue happens whether i boot from the OS disks or if I boot from CDROM.. I am using the same serial settings that work on other boxes. 9600,8,N,1 Is there something I need to set? Has anyone experienced this.. Very frustrating because I can do no maintenance.. Below shows where the box gets to when booting, this is when I lose control..At this point the screen shows no more output. I have to send a break to get to the OK prompt.. {1} ok boot cdrom -s Boot device: /pci@1f,4000/scsi@2/disk@6,0: f File and args: -s SunOS Release 5.10 Version Generic_139555-08 64-bit Copyright 1983-2009 Sun Microsystems, Inc.
