I recently asked:
I urgently need some female db50 connectors for ribbon cables. I
checked the standard catalogs like Inmac, Misco, etc but they all seem
not to know what sun scsi conventions are....
Has anybody out there already come across this problem and found a
supplier? I'll summarize whatever replies I get. Thanks in advance to
all of you.
Thanks to all of you for your replies. However, some people
misunderstood my question and thought I was asking if I *can* do that
or they were worried about the reliability of the cables I make in
this way. What I need is to simply replace a Telco style connector in
desktop scsi disk (which used to be connected to a DEC box) so that I
can use normal Sun style cables. I ordered what I need from Black Box.
Here are the suggested vendors:
-- Alexander Lopez (alexl@daemon.CNA.TEK.COM): [LCT note: tel. no.?]
I get mine from 3M, sometimes as samples.
8350-6005 female connector on ribbon, 4-40 threads, shell (on box)
dsub socket connector $12.50
These are not the mini-scsi connectors. 3M does have them also.

Check
Black Box , Pittsburgh, PA
order: 412-746-5530
tech.info: 412-746-5565
and Cabletron , San Jose, CA
Black Box has some DB 50 connectors for ribbon cables. They seem to have
all kinds of cables and connectors you may want.
I don't have ph.no. for Cabletron, unfortunately. They specialize in network
supplies, though, I don't know if they have what you want.

.....
try finding a vendor like Newark Electronics,
real engineering outlets, places that carry AMP, Amphenol, etc..

-- Bob Sutterfield (bob@morningstar.com): [LCT note: tel. no.?]
AMP makes them, or at least the male kind. Our hardware tech guy got
a pair of mail DB50s and put them on opposite ends of a short piece of
50-wide ribbon cable. I'm happily using it in my SCSI chain right
now.

-- Ron Vasey (vasey@mcc.com):
Naturally, I can't find the essential catalog when needed...
but I think AMP makes D-50 connectors for RIBBON cables.
(I checked ITT and Amphenol and come up empty.)

Another interesting reply was the following from Stephen Gerard
(tscs!gerard@uunet.uu.net):
This table should show you what you need:
