Hi Managers,
I got only one answer from the vendor regarding the Maxtor's disk
model LXT-340S format.dat. Here the disk geometry that I use:
disk_type = "Maxtor LXT-340S" \
: ctlr = MD21 \
: ncyl = 2373 : acyl = 2 : pcyl = 2375 : nhead = 7 : nsect = 40 \
: rpm = 3600 : bpt = 20480
partition = "Maxtor LXT-340S" \
: disk = "Maxtor LXT-340S" : ctlr = MD21 \
: a = 0, 16800 : b = 60, 33600 : c = 0, 664440 : g = 180, 614040
SCSI ID is set on the J6 jumpers:
Closest to 9 1
Power : : : : : Jumpers ( defaults 34,56,78 is set )
Suppy \_/ \____/
| |___ ID setting ( default is set to 6 )
| and the LSB is start from 12.
|
|__________ Factory setting
It works so far with no problem reported on the Sun 4/60 SunOS 4.1.1. I
installed 2 on it which give you 600+ MB on the pizza box. The only thing
you might be aware that the disk's face plate need to be remove in order
to make it sit tight on the systems.
Could it possibly cause a heat or power shortage on the 4/60 ? The answer is
I don't know yet. So far so good for two weeks now.
