I have a fix, Ian was the first one to correctly get the answer, which
I included below. The problem was:
NIS new database files don't get transferred with yppush. The yppush
would die after about 5 minutes saying it couldn't transfer.

This solved the problem, by rcp'ing the .dir and .pag files to the slave
server, the file now pushes correctly. Thanks everyone!
