SUMMARY:
Many thanks to those who replied and especially to Mike Sullivan who
provided the correct answer to question 1): input-from-defaults
is a symbolic link to /usr/bin/sunview1/input_from_defaults. Since
I did not install the SunView filesets on this system, this wasn't
there. Without this file, xnews could still be run with the -nosunview
option, but I decided just to copy the file there instead. Noone
has replied to question 2) yet so I'm still trying to figure it out.
