Sorry it took so long to summarize. DNS is a side project for me which should
explain why I need help. 8-)
The best advice I got was to buy a copy of O'Reilly's book "DNS & BIND."
Others pointed out some obvious errors in my zone files. It should be noted
that SOA records and cache entries are not necessarily needed on a limited
private network. However when you move from private to public, you need to
play by the rules.
I still need to get in some reading on the O'Reilly book to really iron things
out.
