Sorry for the delay in posting this summary, I've been on holiday for a week.
My original question:

All the people suggested me to disable IP forwarding adding the following
line to the kernel configuration file:
options "IPFORWARDING=-1" # Never forward , see /sys/netinet/in_proto.c
I have reconfigured the kernel according to the instruction in the System
And Network Administration manual and rebooted. It seems to work.
