Sorry for being so late on this, but sun took some time to believe there
was a problem and finally fix it.

Subject: PC-NFS/SLIP Solaris 2.2

Folks,
I have an LX, Solaris 2.2 PC-NFS 5.0, Slip through hayes modems.
It seems that if sunslip is activated, I get a malformed host message on the
PC, the PC hangs up his modem, and Solaris Panics with a Bad Trap on the MMU.
I have verified a strait terminal session connection and correct CTS/RTS
flow control on both ends.
Is there anyone out there who has successfully installed sun's slip from
PC-NFS 5.0 to serial port A through hayes 9600 baud modems?
I will summarize.

It turns out that SUNSLIP supplied with PC-NFS 5.0 will in fact cause a core
dump when the session is terminated by a modem dropping carrier detect under
Solaris 2.2. (Solaris 2.1 was untried by us)
Sun has a new sunslip and sl driver that has fixed the problem.
I do not think it is officially released yet but it worked for us
