Sun-Managers,
your wisdom is ... <words are missing> !
It took only 20 hours (10 of which I tried to sleep :) to get the answer..
Our central sysadmins who manage /usr/local compiled GNU make and placed
it into /usr/local/bin/make ... Of course, my (root's) path contains
/usr/local/bin before /bin, so I caught GNUmake. It doesn't seem to under-
stand some construction in the kernel's Makefile. (That's why I wasn't
able to build no kernels anymore.)
Using /bin/make in the kernel's subdir of /sys/sun4m went ok.
Thanks to Casper Dik, who had the correct solution. (only 3 lines of mail,
but ... 100 points !)
Thanks also to Torsten Metzner, who sent me a list of involved object files,
but I cross-checked the whole /sys directory tree against a second sun4m
machine, found no files missing (except the new kernel files, of course).
