I had posted about a problem I was having getting the NIS master
for another NIS domain to use my DNS servers. I had a couple
of helpful suggestions about checking the resolv.conf, this was
OK however.
It turned out to be another manifestation of a NIS "feature"
which I've run into before. Although I was working on the NIS
master for the domain, ypwhich showed that it was itself bound
to one of the slaves, so DNS lookups would occur on the slave of
course. I hadn't yet configured the slave to use DNS. Once I
did so it all worked fine.
