SUMMARY: 'limit' under csh

Many thanks to all who answered (no need to list, you know who you are)!

Question Summary:

We have a program that sometimes crashes. Appears that increasing the
stacksize and/or the # of descriptors with the csh limit command solves
the problem. Where are the defaults for these set and what are the
implications of changing them?

Several folks pointed me toward the kernel include files. So far I located
the stacksize parameter in the vmparams.h file but haven't yet found the
descriptors parameter definition yet.

To tell the truth, I have quit looking. It turns out that the person
working with the program changed two things at the same time while testing
and it turned out to be the other change that was important and not the
unlimit command. :-/

The only implication mentioned is that a bit (not much) extra memory would
be used allowing programs more space.

Thanks for all the help.
