: Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for background, setting background to white
Your graphic card / X-server supports only 256 colors .
So , if you open some color-intensive applications , they grab all
the available colours , and other color-intensive applications couldn't
allocate colormap entry for a particular color they need .
The solution is to close some applications , remove the color-intensive
background , etc .
: Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-*-14-*-iso8859-1" to type FontList
This font can't be found for some reasons .
Try
xterm -fn "-*-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-*-14-*-iso8859-1"
If it doesn't work , then use
xlsfonts | grep lucida
to see if you have it available .
If not , check the font path by
xset q
If the directory /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi is in the font path ,
ls /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/lut*
If the fonts are there , log in as root into that directory and run
mkfontdir
If not , get the fonts .
