The answer is: there should not be any problems to rlogin or telnet. But there will be some issues.
1. scripts written with 4.1.x calls/programs, which shell you are
using, paths (to programs) that differ between the two OS's and minor
switch changes to commands.
Pluses: /usr/ucb contains some of the old ucb stuff to use under Solaris 2.x
FTP and rlogin should not cause any problems - new switches to old commands
may.
2. If you do a lot of NFS at your site you should be aware
of some problems with the locking mechanism of Solaris. The lock daemon
tends to fail every now and then. This leads to blocking of processes
depending on a lock. However it is easy to restart the daemon by just
give it a kill and start it up again.
...
the "Differences" course from Sun would be a good idea...
