Summary concerning the mounting of Solaris disks on a Macintosh platform.
1) Troubleshooting the authentication problem.
- Try by adding the directories .finderinfo and .resources in the
top-level
filesystem of the unix disk.
- Check if userids are greater than 100.
- The user shell must end with "sh".
- Check to see if the IP-address/hostname is present in the
/etc/dfs/dfstab file joining those filesystems you want to export.
- Try using snoop to locate the problem.
None of the above could help to solve my problem.
So I looked to the alternatives that were mentioned.
2) Alternative softwares:
- Netatalk
- CAP (Columbia AppleTalk Protocol)
- K-AShare
- NFS/Share
- Totalnet
- bwnfsd
I've installed Netatalk and it runs fine.
