Hi,
I had originally asked:
Hi,
Can someone tell me what port or ports (TCP or UDP) NIS uses, if
any? More specifically, I'm trying to set up a NIS server which
denies access to all services but NIS. Is something like this
possible? I will summarize.
The solution seems to be to disable all services in /etc/inetd.conf
and restart inetd (which I had expected), except for RPC (which NIS
uses). Thanks to all of the following people for their help.
