I've got a SPARCserver 1000E, Solaris 2.5.1, with a Sun multipack
external drive unit (2 x 2.1GB Seagate ST32550N). I've been getting
the following SCSI error on writes on various disk blocks:
ASC: 0x12 (address mark not found for ID field)
Can someone read these tea leaves for me? :-) Is it fatal, or
fixable with a re-format, etc.?

I was referred to Bug ID 1218177 and a SunService TechInfo Bulletin
on this. Here's a URL to the bulletin:
http://www.sun.ch/SunService/technology/bulletin/bulletin963.html
It mentions this as a known problem on Seagate Barracuda 2.1GB
7200 RPM disks (model #ST32550x), with revision 0412 firmware.
It is related to the idle seek implementation, which may cause
intermittent write errors. Obtain the patch 103451-03 and update
the firmware code on the drive(s). Current rev is 0418.
