thanks to all who responded (list included below). the general consensus
was to get the sudo package from http://www.courtesan.com/courtesan/products/sudo
i've done that and we're getting ready to start testing.
some folks had suggested using 'bin' in my ftp command. that wasn't really
possible as i was using notscape to search sunsite.unc.edu.
apologies to those who took offense at the 'summary nazis' comment. it was
meant to be satirical :>(
