SUMMARY - Shared Console Terminal

Swamped with replies about how to do this.

The general consensus is to use a terminal server / stallion board or
similar device to tie all the serial ports together. Then just
telnet/tip to the system of your choice.

Many warnings about a break code being generated and dropping all
attached systems to the OK prompt. This is patchable on 2.6 but we only
have 2.5 and 2.5.1

I will look into the terminal server option, but I have also been
contacted by local vendors who have solutions. Depending on the price
involved, we may obtain a packaged product.

Other suggestions:

Use a Linux box with serial adapters
Use an Apex Sundial switchbox
Use a Cybex switchbox
Use a separate Sparc with asynch cards / RS232 to servers
www.rosel.com to see Ultraview console sharing

Thanks to all who replied (way too many to list)

Original Post:

This question was asked recently, but I didn't see the summary.
Hopefully someone can provide the answer.

We are designing our new computer room, and it would be an ideal time to
look at a way to use one central console terminal to manage 'many'
systems.

I have done this before with other O/S's. Anyone out there done this or
investigated it for Solaris? We have a variety of
SparcStations/SparcServers, running 2.5 and 2.5.1

Thanks for any help, I will summarise.
