I wish to thank everyone for their replies. Most of them were just
additional
questions. Unfortunately none of them have worked. Since the PCI card is
an Ultra Wide and the tape drive is a narrow, I am going to try
replacing the adapter cable with an Adaptec terminating adapter to make
sure the additional lines in the wide are properly terminated. If this
works I will pass the information along.

I tried this and received the same error as using the ufrestore command
directly.

I have replaced it with a known good terminator but again no change.
