Another good reason to upgrade to 2.6... the resolution is to use "kbd -a
disable" or
edit the /etc/default/kbd, uncomment the line
KEYBOARD_ABORT=enable
and make it
KEYBOARD_ABORT=disable

I guess you're stuck if you have 2.5.1 or earlier...
