Dear Managers,

Sorry for late update because I haven't had any resolution yet. I
have also sent my original question to Sun. Unfortauntely, I haven't
recevied any reply from them yet.

On the other hand, I received a new version of SunScan (version 1.1)
yesterday. I tested this with my machine and found the following:

i) CDE 1.0.2 is compliant with the patches listed at
http://sun.com/y2000/cpl.html installed

ii) SunScan has problem in detecting the version of several packages.
For example, it says my AdminSuite 2.3 is AdminSuite 6.5 and it does
not know the compliance status. Similar problem occurs for AutoClient
2.2 and DiskSuite 4.1

It seems to me that SunScan is still in its beta-stage. I'd rather
trust SunSolve for the moment.

Here's my original post:
I recently downloaded sunscan (http://www.sun.com/y2000/sunscan/) to
further validate whether our SUNs are y2k compliant. To my surprise,
the result is inconsistent with that of SunSolve. For example, Sunsolve
says that for CDE 1.0.2, 103670-06 and 105327-03 are required. However,
on a Solaris 2.5.1 with CDE 1.0.2 and these 2 patches installed, sunscan
reports that CDE 1.0.2 must be upgraded to CDE 1.2.

Which one should I trust? SunSolve or SunScan?

For your information, all relevant y2k patches have been applied on our
SUNs, as specified on SunSolve.

Thanks in advance and I will summarize.

Rgds.,
Wales Wong
