Sorry for the late SUMMARY.
Many Thanks to all who replied. Outcome : Cant get rid of the warning but it is not serious
just annoying. Here are the replies...
From: "Rob Allan" <RALLAN@ca.oracle.com>
we have the exact same problem with our new ultra 10's. The older
systems (300 MHz CPU's) don't have this problem.
We are using the new PCI SCSI cards with 2 connectors on our Ultra
10's. We thought this might be the problem; are you using and SCSI cards
on these systems?
< no we are not .

WARNING: processorlevel 4 interrupt not serviced
================================================
This message is basically a diagnostic from the SCSI driver.Especially on
machines with the sun4c architecture, it can appear on the console every 10
minutes or so.To reduce the frequency of this message, add this line near
the bottom of the /etc/system file and reboot:
set esp:esp_use_poll_loop=0
You might also see this message repeatedly after manually removing a CD
when it was busy. Don't do this! To get the system back to normal, reboot
the system with the -r (reconfigure)option.
Craig Mertens <craig.mertens@mci.com>
If I remember correctly, this is a SCSI diagnostic message that seems to
be endemic to the Ultra 10s. No warranty that this will work, but try
changing the esp_use_poll_loop MV in /etc/system:
set esp:esp_use_poll_loop=0
Then `boot -r`.

According to panic page 294;
Level 4 On-board SCSI devices.
Look for scsi messages or use scsiinfo to see the 'correct' type of SCSI & speed
is in use. I dont know what the onboard SCSI type is for a U10. Is the U10 PCI
based?? You may want adb & the contents of /usr/include/sys/scsi. To see if it
is wide, fast etc etc.

There is patch for the same for Solaris 2.5.1. The patch ID is
106966-01.
Check the URL:/sunsolve.sun.com and the public patch access for Solaris
2.6
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original Question:
I received 15 new Ultra 10 and loaded Solaris 2.6 HW 5/98 with recommended patches.
I get the following warning in the messages file.
Jan 5 20:39:32 bitey.apple.com unix: WARNING: interrupt level 4 not serviced
Jan 6 02:20:10 bitey.apple.com unix: WARNING: interrupt level 4 not serviced
Jan 6 08:18:00 bitey.apple.com unix: WARNING: interrupt level 4 not serviced
Jan 6 13:35:05 bitey.apple.com unix: WARNING: interrupt level 4 not serviced
It does not cause any problems that I can see
but was wondering if anyone has seen this before and give me any insight. The error occurs on all
systems and I loaded them through a jumpstart server. I have loaded many other systems off the same
jumpstart server with the same patches (SS20,Ultra 60,Ultra 5 but no ultra 10) and do not get the error so I
think it is system
related.
As Always Thanks and will summerize....
