Thanks to Casper and Bill for getting this one for me. Casper
pointed out the installing niskit on 2.6 and above will cause
problems, but this wasn't the case. Bill asserted that if the
hostname were manually changed, the /etc/net/*/hosts files may
contain the wrong information, which could cause problems. It turns
out that these are used for loopback ti rpc names (ask Casper for
more info since I'm not entirely clear on it). I can now change
passwords from another host using yppasswd, just not directly on the
NIS master. A reboot should clear this, which is planned for the
weekend. I'm not sure why this was stuffed in the first place if
these are just for loopback rpc, but as long as it works now ...
