Thanks to Lehti Rami [rammer@cs.tut.fi] and James Neal [neal@ee.pdx.edu]
for their fast response.

My Original Question:

One of our users would like to know how to copy Audio CD on CDROM to the CD
recording media on the CD-R drive.
Is there a mount command to mount audio CD on Solaris 2.6 with vold turned
off?

Answers:

>From Lehti Rami:
You can use a program called galette to read the audio track from
audio cd.
http://www.cybersoft.org/galette/

And then use cdrecord to record them with CD-R.
ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/cdrecord/

Both programs are freely available.

>From James Neal:
"mount" is really a filesystem term and has no meaning for Audio CDs.

If what you want to do is read tracks off of the audio CD, you should
investigate "cdda2wav", "cdparanoia" or another CD "ripping" program.
I'm sure if you look around "www.mp3.com" you'll find plenty.

Once you have the tracks on a filesystem, you can burn them with "cdrecord".
(Look around yahoo for that one..)
