SUMMARY: Sony AIT-2 Tape Drive

My original posting was :
I have to install a Sony AIT-2 /SDX-500C Tape Drive on a Ultra
Enterprise 450, sparc SUNW, Ultra-4 running SunOS 5.7.
Do I need to do any special configuration when using AIT-2 tape drives?
Any suggestions and help is appreciated.
I use ufsdump to backup my file systems.

All of them suggested to
Edit /kernel/drv/st.conf file adding the following entry

tape-config-list=
        "SONY SDX-500C", "Sony AIT2 8mm", "SONY_TAPE";

        SONY_TAPE = 1,0x34,0,0x1639,4,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,3;

You should also check the dip switches on the drive for the proper
settings. Check the manual Sun E450 for settings..
