Hi All,

Adding to the summary I want to state that I didnt recieved any answer stating
the equation or formula that can
be used in calculating the load factor on the server which was my main objective
for asking this problem
As far I think the equation must have Disk I/O, Memory and CPU Utilization as
its variables.
If any one has some idea about it , kindly do send me the solution.

Thanx&Regds,

Subject: SUMMARY(Late) :Load factor Calculations

Hi All,

Thanx to all who replied. The list is too long to be mentioned.
Most of the answers I received pointed out that the load on a machine is
roughly
the avarge no. of jobs in the run queue.

Thanx again to all who replied.

Subject: Load factor Calculations

Hi All,

Have you got an idea how the load average on a sun system is calculated.
i.e. what is the formula that is used to calculate the load average on the Sun
Systems.
I think that this calculation must be based on the disk I/O , CPU and memory
utilization.
Can anyone put some light on this.

I will summarise

Thanx in advace
