Here is a probable simple question. Is there any way to have a system boot
with the -r option by default? I looked in the Answerbook but could not
find a solution.

Second Summary:
In addition to the above solution, many people indicated to simply put a
"touch /reconfigure" in an rc script when the machine shuts down. For
example, it could be placed in /etc/rc3.d/S99reconfigure.
Also, some people have asked why we would want to do such a thing. Well,
the issue is a third party PCI card in an Ultra 5 which does not want to be
recognized unless a boot -r is performed each time the machine is
restarted. When the card manufacturer was consulted about the issue, their
"solution" was to rebuild the device tree via boot -r each time the system
is rebooted.
